The Best Fancy Florentine Sausage Stuffing (Or Dressing)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion
- 12 cup celery
- 12 cup carrot
- 1 (16 ounce) can chicken broth
- 1 (8 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
- 2 (8 ounce) packageswhite bread stuffing mix
- Melt butter.
- You can use HOT Italian sausage (we like it spicy) or the sweet Italian sausage.
- Cut in small pieces and brown in butter with garlic.
- Chop veggies very fine and add to pan.
- Saute about 8 minutes.
- Add everything to a 9 x 11 baking dish.
- Drizzle the top with turkey drippings or add chicken broth and 3/4 C water.
- You may add pepper to taste but don't add salt unless you taste and taste again.
- The broth and sausage should provide all the saltiness you need.
- Bake at 325 for one hour.
- If the top seems to be browning too much, put a piece of foil loosely over the top.
