Chocolate Nut Tart
- 1 14 cups vanilla wafers, crushed
- 13 cup butter
- 14 cup granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup light-colored corn syrup
- 12 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 12 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 12 cup sliced almonds
- 13 cup mini semisweet chocolate piece (I prefer milk chocolate)
- Preheat oven to 350F Line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
- Do not grease.
- In a bowl, combine vanilla wafers, 1/3 cup butter, and granulated sugar.
- Pour mixture into prepared pan, and press mixture evenly over the bottom and sides of the pan.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs with a fork.
- Stir in corn syrup.
- Add brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter, and vanilla and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Stir in almonds and chocolate.
- Place prepared pan on a baking sheet.
- Carefully pour filling into pan and bake in a 350F oven for 40 minutes.
- Remove the outer ring of the springform pan before presentation.
