Philly Cheese Steak Strata
- 3 tablespoons Land O Lakes Butter
- 6 cups cubed 3/4-inch French bread slices
- 1 medium (1 cup) green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cooked roast beef
- 12 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes Deli Sharp Cheddar American Blend, coarsely chopped
- 1 cup milk
- 4 Land O Lakes Eggs
- 2 tablespoons steak sauce
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 2-quart baking dish; set aside.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter in bowl in microwave.
- Place bread cubes into another bowl.
- Pour melted butter over bread cubes; toss to coat.
- Spread in even layer on baking sheet.
- Bake, turning cubes halfway through, 20 minutes or until cubes are crisp and beginning to brown.
- Melt 1 tablespoon butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling; add green pepper and onion.
- Cook 5-7 minutes over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until crisply tender.
- Place bread cubes, beef, green pepper and onion mixture and cheese in bowl; mix until well combined.
- Transfer to prepared baking dish.
- Whisk together all remaining ingredients in another bowl.
- Pour over ingredients in baking dish.
- Cover with nonstick aluminum foil.
- Bake 40 minutes.
- Remove foil; bake 10-15 minutes more or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
