Candy Apple Pie Recipe
- 1 3/4 c. unsweetened apple juice
- 3/4 c. hard cinnamon candy, about 20 pcs
- 1/4 tsp red food colouring
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 x Granny Smith apples
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 x 9 inch baked pie shell nondairy whipped topping grnd cinnamon
- Method:1.
- Peel and core the apples.
- Slice thinly.
- 2.
- Combine 1 1/2 c apple juice, candies, food coloring, vanilla, and apples in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil.
- Simmer till apples are tender, stirring frequently.
- Combine remaining 1/4 c. apple juice and corn starch; stir into apple mix, and cook till thickened.
- Remove from heat, and let cold.
- 3.
- Spread apple mix into pie shell, and refrigeratefor several hrs.
- Before serving, top with cold whip and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Makes 1 pie
- This pie tastes as good as a candy apple without the mess.
