Party Candy Caramel Corn

  1. Heat oven to 200F.
  2. Combine popcorn and pretzels in large roasting pan; set aside.
  3. Combine brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt in 2-quart saucepan.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 12-14 minutes or until mixture comes to a full boil.
  5. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 4-6 minutes or until candy thermometer reaches 238F.
  6. or small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms a soft ball.
  7. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda.
  8. Pour over popcorn and pretzels; sprinkle peanuts over caramel mixture.
  9. Stir until all popcorn is coated.
  10. Bake 20 minutes; stir.
  11. Continue baking 25 minutes.
  12. Remove from oven; stir in candy.
  13. Immediately place caramel corn on waxed paper; cool completely.
  14. Break into pieces.
  15. Store in tightly covered container.
