Roasted Jalepeno Margarita

  1. Over a hot grill, toast the jalapeno until lightly blistered on the outside and fragrant.
  2. Slice into 1/4-inch-thick wheels.
  3. In a cocktail shaker, add 2 slices roasted jalapeno, ice and the Homemade Sour Mix.
  4. Muddle, then add the tequila and the juice of 1 lime wedge.
  5. Shake.
  6. Rim a margarita glass with the wedge of a lime and salt, if using.
  7. Serve over ice.
  8. Garnish with a lime wheel.
  9. Combine the sugar and 1 1/2 cups water in a saucepan.
  10. Bring to a simmer until the sugar dissolves.
  11. Remove from the heat and cool.
  12. Add the lemon and lime juice.
  13. Chill until ready to use.
  14. Yield: 3 1/2 cups.
