Cabbage Casserole Ala Nita Recipe
- 1 med head Cabbage, shredded
- 1 x Vidalia or possibly sweet type White Onion, minced
- 4 Tbsp. Butter
- 1 x sleeve (2 c.) Sunshine Krispy Krackers, crumbled fine
- 4 lrg fresh Large eggs, beaten
- 1 can Campbell's Cream of Chicken soup
- 2 x or possibly 3 Tbsp. Half & Half or possibly Cream
- 1 tsp table Salt
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 3 Tbsp. Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 c. Hellman's or possibly Duke's Mayonnaise
- 8 ounce Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
- Saute/fry onion in butter about 2 min.
- Add in cabbage and stir and steam for about 5 min, stirring often.
- Don't add in water.
- Combine rest of ingredients, then mix all together well.
- Place in a large lightly greased casserole dish.
- Bake at 360 degrees F. for 40 min or possibly until lightly browned.
- Top with grated cheese if you like last 5 min.
- If you want to cook a smaller casserole, use a small cabbage, 2 or possibly 3 large fresh Large eggs.
- Reduce cheese to 1 c..
