Applesauce Bread Pudding

  1. In a well-buttered square baking dish, layer half of the bread cubes.
  2. Combine the applesauce with the cinnamon and nutmeg and spread over the bread.
  3. Scatter raisins over the applesauce mixture.
  4. Top with remaining bread pieces.
  5. Dot with butter.
  6. Beat together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt.
  7. Pour evenly all over bread and applesauce.
  8. Top with more cinnamon.
  9. Bake uncovered at 350u0b0 for 1 hour or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  10. Makes 6 servings.
