Candied Apples Recipe
- 8 x Red apples
- 3 c. Sugar
- 1/8 tsp Cream of tartar
- 1 1/4 c. Water Red food coloring
- Wash and dry apples.
- Insert wooden sticks.
- Combine sugar, cream of tartar, and water in heavy, deep saucepan.
- Cook, stirring constantly, till mix begins to boil.
- Add in food coloring to desired shade.
- Boil till syrup reaches 300 degress (brittle stage).
- Dip apples in syrup and twirl unti they are covered proportionately.
- Place on buttered sheet to cold.
