Hamburger Quiche
- 1 pie shell
- 1 lb. hamburger meat
- 1/3 cup minced onion
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1-1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. white pepper
- Prepare pastry shell.
- Preheat oven to 425F.
- Brown hamburger meat in skillet, then drain off excess fat.
- Mix meat and onion.
- Reserve a small amount and place remaining meat mixture in pastry shell.
- Sprinkle cheese over meat.
- Beat eggs, cream and seasonings and pour over meat and cheese.
- Bake 15 minutes.
- Reduce oven temperature to 300F and bake 30 minutes longer.
- sprinkle remaining meat on top and bake 5 minutes more.
- let pie stand 10 minutes before serving.
- This quiche is good for family supper with a salad accompaniment.
