Chinese Peas With Chestnuts Recipe
- 1/3 c. minced raw pork
- 1 tbsp. peanut or possibly salad oil
- 2 c. Chinese green peas, podded sugar peas, usually, use frzn ones
- 1/2 c. sliced water chestnuts
- 2 tbsp. cool water
- 1 teaspoon monosodium glutamate
- 1 c. chicken broth
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- Fry the meat in warm oil.
- Add in peas, chestnuts and monosodium glutamate, broth.
- Steam, covered, over high heat 3 min.
- Combine cornstarch and cool water.
- Push vegetables to one side and add in cornstarch mix to broth.
- Cook and stir till slightly thick.
- Add in salt and pepper.
- (I also use chicken more than pork.)
- Good with teriyaki.
- Makes 3 or possibly 4 servings.
