Butterscotch Blondies
- 3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
- 1/4 c. packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. Hershey's butterscotch chips
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixer bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs; blend well.
- In small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Gradually add to butter mixture, mixing well.
- Stir in butterscotch chips and nuts, if desired. Spread in prepared pan.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and center is set.
- Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
- Makes about 36 bars.
