Orange Blossom Dried Fig Jam
- 20 pieces Dried Figs, Chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Coconut Sugar, Honey, Or Agave Syrup
- 1- 1/2 cup Water, Or More As Needed
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 2 Tablespoons Orange Juice
- 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds (optional)
- Put the chopped figs, coconut sugar (or honey or agave syrup) and water in a pot and bring to a boil.Then turn the heat down to low and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the figs are very soft, stirring occasionally.
- If the water evaporates too much, add some more just to to keep the figs simmering.
- When the figs are soft and mushy, transfer them into a food processor.
- Add lemon juice, orange juice and a pinch of salt.
- Puree until smooth.
- You can add chia seeds if you want a firmer or chunkier texture or consistency.
- (I usually add the chia seds for the extra fiber and antioxidants.)
- When the jam is ready, let cool and store in an airtight glass container in the fridge.
