Chip Steak Recipe
- 2 pound thinly sliced round or possibly sirloin steak
- 1 lg. onion, minced
- 1 green pepper, minced
- Garlic salt
- Salt and pepper
- American Swiss cheese slices
- Italian loaf
- Garlic butter (soft butter and garlic salt)
- Mazola or possibly Crisco oil
- In warm oil, cook onions and peppers till sauteed.
- Season with salt and pepper, garlic salt and strain from oil to separate bowl.
- Place sliced steak in layers covering well with garlic salt between layers.
- Cut through slices to narrow strips.
- Fry steak in oil a few at a time.
- As done, add in to the bowl of cooked onion and pepper.
- Return full things to skillet to heat through again till serving time.
- Slice Italian loaf and spread with garlic butter.
- Heat as per directions on loaf wrapper.
- Serve as "help yourself" sandwiches.
