Daouds String / Green Beans Ragout

  1. Fry onions and meat in melted shortening, adding 1 tsp pepper, until brown.
  2. Add garlic.
  3. Add string beans, tomato paste, and cover with water to 1 inch over level of beans.
  4. Stew for 2 hours.
  5. Serve over rice.
  6. Variation: different green vegetables can be used instead.
  7. Dad usually subbed peas.
