Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 c. margarine, softened
- 1 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 c. uncooked regular oats
- 1 c. Rice Krispies
- 18 oz. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
- Cream together butter and oil.
- Gradually add sugars, beating at medium speed with mixer.
- Add egg and vanilla.
- Combine flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar; gradually add this to creamed mixture.
- Stir in oats, rice cereal, chocolate chips and nuts (if desired).
- If possible, refrigerate dough to cool before cooking (if you can wait that long).
- Drop dough by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 10 to 12 minutes (don't wait until the cookies are brown).
- Makes 10 dozen cookies.
