Mini White Loaves

  1. Place warm milk in large bowl; add yeast.
  2. Stir to dissolve.
  3. Stir in 2 3/4 cups flour, sugar, butter and salt until soft dough forms.
  4. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface.
  5. Knead dough, adding additional bread flour 1 tablespoon at a time, if necessary, 5-10 minutes or until dough is smooth.
  6. Place dough into greased bowl; turn, greased-side up.
  7. Cover; let rise in warm place 45-60 minutes or until double in size.
  8. Punch down dough; divide dough into thirds.
  9. Roll out each third to 10x5-inch rectangle.
  10. Fold 5-inch sides crosswise into thirds, overlapping dough.
  11. Roll up tightly, beginning at wide end.
  12. Pinch edge of dough to seal well; press in ends of roll.
  13. Place each loaf into greased 5 1/2x3-inch loaf pan, seam-side down.
  14. Cover; let rise in warm place 30-45 minutes or until double in size.
  15. Heat oven to 375F.
  16. Bake 20-30 minutes or until loaves are golden brown.
